MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab researchers have installed an indoor tomato garden tended by hacked Roombas. The idea for tending to a garden without human hands came from work done by Nikolaus Correll, a postdoctoral assistant working in MIT Professor Daniela Rus’ Distributed Robotics Lab. Correll saw the possible applications of swarm robotics to an agricultural environment and thus the idea grew into a course in which students created robots capable of tending a small garden of tomatoes as we know that people now tend to use something that can make their work easier. We choose to pick this robot because it is very unique and it’s make people easier with the help of this robots.


Function of Robot Gardener
The robot is outfitted with a robotic arm and a watering pump while the plant themselves are equipped with local soil sensing, networking and computation. This enables them to communicate which in other words plants can request water or nutrients and keep track of their conditions, including fruit produced; robots are able to minister to their charges, locate and pick a specific tomato, and even pollinate the plants. By this way, the plant can grow healthier and the fruit picked is the best one.





Humanity Robot





The robot above help people by performing simple task like shaving, moving objects or scratching an itch. This type of personal robot called PR2. The robot was created by a lab called Willow Garage Tech. The lab provided robots to 10 different research universities as a part of its Robot Humanity project that hopes to accelerate robotics research. Willow Garage provided the robot, free of charge (it sells for up $400,000) to Georgia Tech and 10 other research institution around the world. The company’s goal is to accelerate research by providing a basic, state- of- the-art robot so those researchers don’t have to build their own from scratch.


Function of Robot Humanity.
The main function of this robot is to help disable people by moving his head and finger and using the interface, could position the robot’s arms near his face so he could shave and scratch an itch. PR2 is a part of an emerging new class robot because it can do things and move around on its own and physically manipulate things. The robot also has a lot of sensors so it’s aware of what’s around it and its arms are less rigid than other robots.

This robot is known as a robotics company that provides medical-dispensing robots to hospitals. The company says that their medication robots can help reduce waste and medical mistakes. Besides that, it’s also helped reduce medication errors by 25 percent in one hospital. United States healthcare institution may now rent Health Robotics’ solution by the month without having to purchase them as capital expenses. Now hospital can purchase this particular robot to help them in medication field.

This robot can be use in helping to reduce medication errors in hospital and pharmacies. Not only that it also prepare compound and dispense intravenous  medication through sterile, temper-proof IVs, helping to avoid medical mistake and waste.
